EasyPro Technical Bulletin 4 – Installing an HP450 printer for the EasyPro™ Hardware
To install the HP450 printer, you will require the HP450 printer as shipped from the factory, and a USB “dongle” (also known as a Flash Drive or Jump Drive) for copying files to the EasyPro.
Follow these procedures:
- Attach your USB dongle to a computer from which you can access the web
- Cut and paste the following URL into your web browser:
http://www.srsmedical.com/downloads/software/easypro/printer_drivers/hp450.exe
- Save the file to the USB dongle.
- Plug the dongle into the EasyPro and open Windows Explorer.
- Double click on hp450.exe and click on “Unzip” when the self-extraction utility starts. After files are done extracting, click “Close”.
- Following the directions that shipped with the printer, install the printer hardware up to the point when you connect the printer USB cable to the EasyPro.
- Before connecting the USB cable to the EasyPro, make sure that the printer is powered on. Then connect the cable.
- When you connect the cable, you will see “Found New Hardware”. Follow the steps in the wizard to the screen that includes a “Have Disk” button.
- Click “Have Disk” and navigate to: C:\HP450
- Click on the file hp450ka.inf
- This should install the drivers. Check to see if this is now the default printer (look for a checkmark on its printer icon in printers and faxes.
- If this is not the default printer, right-click on the icon to make it the default printer.
- Print a test page to make sure it printed properly. You can do this by right-clicking on the printer icon, selecting Properties, and clicking on "Print Test Page."
- If for some reason the above does not work, just use Add Printer, and repeat the steps 6-10 above.
- Configure the printer as shown below.
To configure the 450 printer:
- Once the printer is installed, right-click on the printer icon in Printers and select Properties.
- Select the Advanced tab.
- In the middle frame, choose Print Directly to Printer.
- Press OK to save these changes.
