EasyPro Technical Bulletin 4 – Installing an HP450 printer for the EasyPro™ Hardware

To install the HP450 printer, you will require the HP450 printer as shipped from the factory, and a USB “dongle” (also known as a Flash Drive or Jump Drive) for copying files to the EasyPro.

Follow these procedures:

  1. Attach your USB dongle to a computer from which you can access the web
  2. Cut and paste the following URL into your web browser: http://www.srsmedical.com/downloads/software/easypro/printer_drivers/hp450.exe
  3. Save the file to the USB dongle.
  4. Plug the dongle into the EasyPro and open Windows Explorer.
  5. Double click on hp450.exe and click on “Unzip” when the self-extraction utility starts. After files are done extracting, click “Close”.
  6. Following the directions that shipped with the printer, install the printer hardware up to the point when you connect the printer USB cable to the EasyPro.
  7. Before connecting the USB cable to the EasyPro, make sure that the printer is powered on. Then connect the cable.
  8. When you connect the cable, you will see “Found New Hardware”. Follow the steps in the wizard to the screen that includes a “Have Disk” button.
  9. Click “Have Disk” and navigate to: C:\HP450
  10. Click on the file hp450ka.inf
  11. This should install the drivers. Check to see if this is now the default printer (look for a checkmark on its printer icon in printers and faxes.
  12. If this is not the default printer, right-click on the icon to make it the default printer.
  13. Print a test page to make sure it printed properly. You can do this by right-clicking on the printer icon, selecting Properties, and clicking on "Print Test Page."
  14. If for some reason the above does not work, just use Add Printer, and repeat the steps 6-10 above.
  15. Configure the printer as shown below.

To configure the 450 printer:

  1. Once the printer is installed, right-click on the printer icon in Printers and select Properties.
  2. Select the Advanced tab.
  3. In the middle frame, choose Print Directly to Printer.
  4. Press OK to save these changes.
