This 2-day program, presented by the Health and Continence Institute, is designed to provide the necessary tools for the clinic administrator, physician, nurse practitioner, or advanced practice clinician to meet patient demand! All topics will cover the practical strategies to establish, market and manage a program for bladder and bowel health.
Topics to be covered will include conceptualization, choosing a site, marketing approaches, clinical services, medications, modalities and pessaries, patient outcomes and satisfaction, as well as reimbursement and finances.
Included will be a CD with customizable templates (practice forms and educational handouts), community powerpoint presentations and detailed coding information. Demonstrations and brief overviews of urodynamics, biofeedback, and beginning knowledge in the fitting of pessaries will be presented.
Faculty - Helen A. Carcio, NP, MS, MEd.
Helen Carcio lectures extensively on bladder health issues and has written
feature articles on related topics in professional publications. In addition,
she has written four books published by Lippincott. Ms. Carcio serves as an
associate clinical professor at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, and
is the 2004 recipient of the National Association for Continence Champion
Award. She serves on the editorial board of Advance for Nurse Practitioners.
Ms. Carcio has established multiple bladder health centers and continues to
offer consultation services to others with the same focus.
Faculty - David Mahoney, EVP Sales & Marketing
of SRS Medical
David Mahoney has spent the last ten years in the medical technologies industry
in various roles. As founder and CEO of Incontinence Care Network, an
organization responsible for the development of more than 100 continence
centers across the country, he built and managed the organization until it was
divided and acquired in 2002. Mr. Mahoney has been involved in the development
and distribution of various emerging technologies in the medical field,
primarily in the diagnosis and treatment of pelvic floor disorders. He has
published in industry periodicals and is a frequent lecturer and faculty at
various continence programs around the country.
