1. Who We Are (About SRS Medical)
SRS Medical is a Massachusetts-based medical device company that designs and manufactures diagnostic devices for urologists.
Our flagship product, The UroCuff® Test is a non-invasive test that helps diagnose urinary symptoms in men. It has become a standard of care and is used by thousands of urologists across the United States.
Because of this success, we provide to several of our large urology clients Clinical Testing Services (CTS) where full-time SRS Medical employees work to perform the UroCuff Test for patients.
2. What Is the CTS Program?
Our clients schedule their patients for UroCuff testing on specific days of the week. Instead of using their own staff, they rely on our CTS professionals – specialists who are trained by SRS to perform the test consistently, professionally, and in accordance with the device’s instructions.
Because each office typically dedicates one day per week to UroCuff testing, most CTS employees support five offices per week – one office each day. You become a familiar and trusted member of each practice’s care team.
This is a full-time SRS Medical position, but you work day-to-day inside our customer urology practices, helping ensure that every patient receives a high-quality, non-invasive diagnostic test.
3. What is the UroCuff® Test?
The UroCuff Test is a non-invasive diagnostic test that helps providers evaluate common urinary symptoms in men. These patients will be adult males, of all ages. The patient is typically experiencing voiding symptoms such as urgency and frequency, and this test is part of the routine diagnostics performed to plan treatment for the patient
4. What You Will Do in This Role (Day in the Life)
Most urology practices schedule UroCuff testing on one dedicated weekday. As a Clinical Testing Associate, you will typically work in five different offices per week, one office per weekday. You will become a familiar and trusted face in each practice.
*All offices are located within a defined local region.
Typical Day in the Life of a Clinical Testing Specialist:
- Arrive to the office on time
- Coordinate with front desk staff to make sure that each patient has a strong desire to void
- Walk patient from reception to the UroCuff machine
- Place surface EMG electrodes on the patient
- Assist the patient with placing the UroCuff on his penis
- Start the software and guide the patient through the test
- Perform a bladder scan after the patient has completed voiding
- Empty and rinse the urine beaker afterward
- Print or save the test results
- You will make appointment reminder phone calls daily to all patients scheduled for testing the following day
- Expect to be standing and walking throughout most of the day
All testing is non-invasive, and you will receive full, paid training before performing the test independently.
5. Who Is an Ideal Candidate for This Role?
This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys working with patients and wants to play an important part in their care. You do not need prior urology or device experience – we will teach you everything you need to know.
You may be an excellent match if you:
- Are empathetic and patient focused.
Many patients may be nervous or unsure about the test. You know how to put people at ease and explain things clearly. - Are reliable and professional.
Each office builds a full day of UroCuff testing around your visit, and patients may have been waiting (and possibly worrying) about this appointment for weeks. If you’re unexpectedly absent, these tests must be canceled and rescheduled. Your reliability ensures patients receive timely, compassionate care and makes you a valued member of every care team you support. - Communicate well with patients and clinical staff.
You enjoy helping patients feel comfortable and can share test results with the office team professionally. - Feel comfortable performing a standardized medical test.
After training, you’ll be confident placing the UroCuff and EMG electrodes and guiding the patient through the process. - Are adaptable and enjoy variety in your work setting.
You’ll visit several urology offices each week. If you like meeting new teams and working in different environments, this is a great fit. - Can learn and operate a computerized diagnostic device.
The UroCuff Test is simple to run, and we’ll train you – but being comfortable with technology is helpful. - Enjoy a role with independence and responsibility.
You’ll run the test on your own, but with full support from SRS Medical and the office staff around you.
