The Orion Platinum represents the state-of-the-art in PFR instrumentation for the treatment of urinary and fecal incontinence.
2-Channel EMG for Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation
Simultaneous monitoring of the activity of the pelvic floor and accessory muscles makes it easier for patients to learn to isolate muscles and develop better control. Internal electrode assemblies like the SenseRx™ Vaginal or Anal Sensors or the Eisman-Tries IVS-2™ Intravaginal Sensor are typically used for the pelvic floor, since they make the most direct measurements. Surface electrodes on the right side of the abdomen are typically used for the second site, in order to monitor inappropriate use of accessory muscles.

4-Channel EMG for Pelvic Floor Profiling
The Orion Platinum provides the ability to simultaneously monitor up to four muscle sites for comprehensive pelvic floor assessment. (Optional Dual EMG Preamplifier required.) By monitoring diverse muscle sites, profiling can identify the most relevant effector mechanism for each patient, increasing the efficiency of PFR.
Respiration and Temperature Monitoring
Respiration feedback is used to teach coordination of breathing and muscle contraction, and is particularly useful for incontinence patients with a tendency to hold their breath and bear down (Valsalva’s maneuver) when instructed to contract their pelvic floor muscle. Temperature is typically used for biofeedback-assisted relaxation training in order to cultivate lower autonomic arousal levels, which can be of particular benefit for patients with urge UI.
