Advanced Technology for
More Natural Bladder Drainage
- A safe, convenient and dignified alternative
to conventional urinary catheters
- Allows most patients to void without assistance
and even
use a toilet
- Remote-controlled turbine pump virtually
eliminates post-void residuals
- Easily removed at any time, even by patients
The In-Flow is an advanced urinary catheter for females. It is unique
in that it provides safety and effectiveness comparable to or better
than the present standard of care, clean intermittent catheterization
(CIC), but as in indwelling catheter, it can be used by many patients
who would otherwise use Foley catheters.
|
The In-Flow is similar to a Foley catheter in its method of insertion,
anatomic location, patient-contacting material and duration of use
(29 days). It differs in that it uses a remote-controlled valve-pump
mechanism to eliminate tubes and collection bags.
The In-Flow catheter employs an entirely new approach to bladder
drainage. Click here to see How
the In-Flow Works. Unlike conventional
catheters, which rely on gravity to passively drain the bladder, the
In-Flow has a miniature turbine pump that spins at 10,000 RPM and
actively empties urine. This maintains the “flush mechanism” that
the body normally uses to protect itself against the build up of bacteria
and infection. The technology involved is considerable (key design
aspects are patented worldwide) and results in significant advantages
over conventional catheters:
1. |
Reduced risk of infection.
Foley catheters result in 5%
risk of infection per day (virtually 100% in 30 days). Attempts
to improve the infection resistance of Foley catheters by adding
biocoatings, etc. have resulted in only modest benefits todate.
The U.S.
clinical study (n=273) compared the In-Flow to CIC, the current
standard of care, and found that its UTI rate was the same or
better than CIC. A follow-on study with 15 patients showed that
infection rates decreased even more significantly after 6-8
months of In-Flow use. |
2. |
Improved quality of life.
In clinical studies, the In-Flow improved quality of life by
50-80%. Click here to learn How
the In-Flow Provides More Natural Voiding.
|
At this time, the In-Flow’s safety and effectiveness have
been documented by five clinical studies (total n=495) and a total
of 52
patients from three studies have been followed for at least one year.
With the exception of discomfort, adverse events are similar to CIC
and no clinically significant tissue damage has been observed in any
patient at any time. Click here for complete Physician
Instructions for Use.
The In-Flow catheter conforms to Council Directive
93/42/EEC and bears the CE mark.
U.S. Patent Nos. 5,762,599 and 6,417,750; counterparts
worldwide. Additional patents pending.
CAUTION: Not cleared by the
FDA for sale in the USA. Investigational device. Limited by US law
to investigational use.

Urodynamics and Urodynamic Medical Solutions are provided by SRS Medical to
provide better care for your medical patients. Best Practice for the care of
patients with lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) includes urodynamics for
prescriptive diagnosis. Urodynamics is good medicine and, due to increases
in reimbursement, urodynamics, and urodynamic in general, now makes financial
sense. SRS Medical offers such Urodynamic treatments and solutions such as
the Eris Clarity System. The Clarity System features advanced technology from
Eris, the group that first introduced computer-assisted urodynamics. In particular,
the Eris Clarity System features two unique technologies that have significant
real-world clinical benefits when dealing with Urodynamics: Effective Treatment
of Urodynamic related illness begins with Accurate Diagnosis such as Pharmaceuticals,
Conservative Treatments, Surgical Prodcedures Along with patient treatment
of Urodynamic related illness and manufacturer of Urodynamic medical equpment,
SRS Medical, Inc also deals with Incontinence, Supplier of the In-Flow product,
